Furthermore, Chimaev recently appeared in an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour. He discussed an interesting sparring session that he had with former UFC light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka.

Khamzat Chimaev shares sparring stories of Jiri Prochazka

The rising UFC welterweight contender spoke about sparring with the former UFC light heavyweight champion. ‘Borz’ opened up about his thoughts on Prochazka. He said, “Jiri started to speak about me and I beat that guy in sparring…” Jiri Prochazka attended the Allstars Training Center in Sweden.

He continued while speaking about the topic, “When he was fighting Rizin and I was fighting Brave. We trained together in the gym. We sparred, hard sparring, I won many rounds. I submit him many times, I beat him many times. He becomes a champ. Now I don’t know maybe it’s too bad fighters in this division.”

Chimaev also revealed that he was disappointed and complained to his manager that Prochazka got title shots before him. He added, “I don’t know how he became a champ. Some guys I don’t know how they became a champ. When the UFC sign him, I called my manager that guy I beat him in the gym. Why did they sign that guy? Why didn’t they sign me… “

Khamzat Chimaev wishes to become a three-division champion

During the interview with MMA Fighting, ‘Borz’ also mentioned his ambitions and reiterated a few. The UFC welterweight fighter said that he looks to become a champion of the welterweight, middleweight, and light heavyweight divisions.

The undefeated fighter has been struggling to make weight and UFC President Dana White has acted upon the same.
