In an interview with UFC legend, Michael Bisping, Aspinall questioned why Jon Jones still holds the title. He also stated that Jones should be stripped due to his injury. According to Aspinall, “I think Jon Jones should be stripped from the title, to be honest, because everyone else does when they get injured like that.”

Despite Aspinall’s victory, UFC CEO Dana White stated that plans for Jones remain unchanged, aiming to reschedule the fight against Stipe Miocic once Jones recovers. Aspinall’s call for Jones to be stripped prompted a social media response from the undisputed champion, who indirectly criticized Aspinall for lacking the accolades to support his demand.

And it seems that Jones’s comments have hit home as in a recent interview, Aspinall decided to clarify what his intent was behind the statement. He revealed, “I said in previous interviews that Jon Jones should get stripped, I actually worded it wrong, and I don’t think he should get stripped.”
