UFC 270’s conclusion saw Francis ‘The Predator’ Ngannou walking away with his world title. Strangely, UFC president Dana White was missing from the Octagon and did not crown the champion while he also failed to turn up in the post-fight presser.

Finally, after being away from the eyes of the media, White came out with a fan Q&A session to answer the community’s questions.

Dana White is hoping to bring Tony Ferguson back into the octagon

White stated that he didn’t leave because Francis Ngannou won, moreover he claimed that he was never present after the co-main event concluded. Answering fans’ most curious question, White shed light on the possible return of Tony ‘El Cucuy’ Ferguson in 2022. The promotion is actively trying to book him against the former title challenger and Bellator’s lightweight champion, Michael Chandler.

Ferguson hasn’t competed inside the octagon since last year, after losing an important fight against Beneil Dariush. Dariush is now hoping to stake his claim at the world title, as he is pitted to go up against rising contender Islam Makhachev. Meanwhile, El Cucuy is on a three-fight losing skid that snapped his impressive 12 fight-win-streak. He has dropped significantly in the ranking and is hoping to make his return to once again challenge for the title.

Fighting Michael Chandler could be his ticket back into the title picture, but that is definitely not an easy fight. Chandler is in his prime and is the only fighter on the roster who came close to beating Charles Oliveira.

However, this will mark as the final chance for the former interim champion to make a turnaround in the division. A fourth loss to a top contender will further topple his position in the division and might make his title run impossible.

What do you think will this fight happen? If so who do you think will win? Let us know.
