

Former WWE superstar, Paul Wight aka ‘The Big Show’, is arguably one of the most entertaining wrestlers in the promotion. In a recent interview, he gave his thoughts on the attitude and persona of Conor McGregor and Brock Lesnar.

Wight did a podcast with ‘Submission Radio’ in which the trio went over a bunch of topics. In one segment, the hosts asked Wight what he thought of the promo abilities of some of the top athletes in UFC, like Conor McGregor and Colby Covington.
Wight replied by saying, “It’s brilliant.” He added, “You want to separate yourself from the pack. Sure, you can win matches, but if you win matches and you have no personality, then you’re a dry piece of toast.”

He also stressed upon “making an emotional connection with the audience” by having some sort of personality. According to Wight, it doesn’t matter whether or not you play a nice guy because “The audience is going to care about you one way or another. They’re either going to want to see you get beat, or they’re going to see you win.”
The Big Show Talks Conor McGregor and Brock Lesnar
Paul Wight also mentioned the current and former UFC fighters Conor McGregor and Brock Lesnar in his interview.

He said, “Conor McGregor is amazing at talking trash, and even like Brock when he came. You know, Brock just… He didn’t let anyone hold him back. And that’s the thing about Brock. He’s always been that way.”

Wight also explained how Lesnar’s “dead honest” personality played a big role in his success. He said that Lesnar understood the sports’ business aspect, which, combined with his attitude, earned him a successful career.
Wight also mentioned the importance of being unique. According to him, standing out from a crowd provides better entertainment to the fans. This way, one can get better engagement from the fans and grow their brand.

He ended the answer by mentioning that copying other fighters won’t get one anywhere. Fans recognize honesty and resonate with it. These traits will probably boost the chances of growing one’s brand and earning “Mailbox money.”
