Conor McGregor’s recent digs at Justin Gaethje in a now-deleted tweet haven’t gone down well with the American’s side of the camp. McGregor had lashed out at Gaethje following the former interim champ’s remarks about a possible title shot for The Notorious in a recent interview. Now, after the Irishman’s scathing comments, Gaethje’s manager came out in defense of his client in a fresh tweet.

Ali Abdelaziz, known for handling some of the biggest UFC stars, including former champ Khabib Nurmagomedov, fired back at McGregor in response to his earlier tweet. MMA fans are quite familiar with the never-ending back-and-forth between McGregor and Abdelaziz that erupted during the Irishman’s press conference ahead of his fight against Nurmagomedov. Thus, it doesn’t come as a surprise to see that the long-time MMA manager took this opportunity to lash out at the former double champ yet again.

Justin Gaethje’s manager responds to Conor McGregor’s tweet on his client

In typical Abdelaziz fashion, the manager had a few strong words for McGregor in his latest tweet. Not holding himself back a bit, he bashed the former double champ’s capacities as a fighter, even asking him to not speak of his client anymore.

Referring to his yet-to-be-announced fight against Michael Chandler, who Gaethje earlier beat in 2021, Abdelaziz made it a point to show McGregor that he was not the fighter that he was once.

Now whether the former champ chooses to respond to this is a different question; but if he does, we all are quite familiar with how it would go.

In a now-deleted tweet, McGregor lashed out at Gaethje for prior statements

The entire turn of events played out after Justin Gaethje’s remarks during an interview with ESPN MMA; wherein the 34-year-old claimed that he’d probably quit the sport if McGregor was gifted a title shot.

And knowing the Irishman, he couldn’t help but jibe back at the American in a now-deleted tweet. Calling the number three-ranked lightweight a “braindead fool”, McGregor lashed out at him for comparing a very similar situation that saw Gaethje earn his second title shot in 2022.

And maybe McGregor does have a point here. The fact that a win over Chandler, now ranked number five, got Gaethje a title shot; could just pan out the same way for him as well. Also, considering that he is a much larger personality in terms of plain superstardom; the matchmakers won’t hesitate in gifting the Irishman a shot at gold once again.
