Ronda Rousey was one of the most dominant women champions in mixed martial arts. Rousey, the former UFC bantamweight champion, was not only amazingly skilled, but she also made it a point to stand up for what she believed was right. Similarly, once, Rousey showed her support for tennis ace Serena Williams.

After Serena Williams defeated Maria Sharapova in the 2012 Olympic final, Williams did the C-Walk. Even though the tennis player had won a major accolade for her country, she was criticized for this act. While Williams dealt with criticism, the tennis ace found support in Ronda Rousey.

Rousey took to her Twitter and mentioned that she enjoyed William’s celebration. The fighter also left advice for the tennis community. Rousey, in her tweet, wrote, “I loooooved @serenawilliams ‘ post victory c-walk! Tennis people need to lighten up!”

After her tweet, a fan replied to Rousey. The fan tweeted, “@RondaRousey seems like a normal thing to do being that her half sister was killed by a gang member in 2003. C’mon!”
The former UFC champion responded to the fan and tweeted, “@Krisotranto well if someone in my family died of the plague i’d still ring-around-a-rosie”

The fan, in another reply to Rousey, wished her good luck. The fan wrote, “@RondaRousey touche. Good comeback and good luck in your upcoming fight.” The former 135-pound UFC women’s champion replied, “@Krisotranto why thank you”

The former UFC bantamweight champion seems to be a fan of the tennis ace and once spoke about meeting Williams.
Ronda Rousey details meeting Serena Williams
Rousey and the tennis ace had an interaction back in 2015. Williams, who was already a renowned star, hit up Rousey, who was making a name for herself in a relatively new sport.

Describing the meeting, Rousey had quite the reaction when Serena Williams hit her up. The former UFC bantamweight champion said, “Serena hit me up and I almost died!”
While the thought of meeting Williams caused nervousness for Rousey, overall she detailed the meeting to be a pleasant experience. The fighter said, “At first I was like, ‘Oh my god, I’m so nervous.’ And then after a few minutes, I was like, ‘This girl is so awesome!”

It is heartwarming to see two athletes from different sports connect with each other. Both Williams and Rousey have broken many barriers to reach the top of their field, and also serve as an inspiration to people around the globe.
