WATCH: Once a Bitter Rival, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Showed His Class While Embracing an Injured Brock Lesnar After Huge UFC 116 Win Against Shane Carwin

Brock Lesnar is one of the most famous athletes on the planet. The South Dakota-born athlete has dominated the world of MMA and pro wrestling. Lesnar has not only earned the respect of his fans but he also is respected by his fellow athletes. In a similar instance, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson once showed his love and admiration for Lesnar.

At UFC 116, Lesnar faced former interim UFC heavyweight champion Shane Carwin in a title unification bout. Carwin tasted success in the first round as he knocked down Lesnar and landed damage. The interim champ also opened a cut on Lesnar’s eye. However, in the next round, Carwin was fatigued, and Lesnar executed a beautiful takedown and eventually won the fight via submission.

After the fight, Lesnar had a special guest who visited him. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson entered the locker room to pay his respects to Lesnar. Upon seeing Johnson, Lesnar stood up, and the two embraced. ‘The Rock’ was also seen giving Lesnar a kiss on the cheek. The two seemed to have a great time talking to each other as they exchanged a laugh.

Brock Lesnar’s victory over Shane Carwin marked his second consecutive UFC title defense. This victory was very special to Lesnar, and he spoke about it in detail in his book.

Lesnar said that when Rogan interviewed him, he spoke purely from his heart. The South Dakota-born athlete said, “When Joe Rogan interviewed me after the fight, I didn’t say anything controversial. Like I always do, I spoke from the heart. “I am a man blessed by God,” I told the world, and I truly felt that way.”

The former UFC champion also mentioned some memorable moments that happened to him and said he was in a great place. Lesnar added, “My wife was ready to give birth to my son Duke . . . I had come off my deathbed and defended my title . . . and I got through that first round beating to tap out Shane Carwin. I was in a great place. What more could I want out of life?

Whether in the ring, or the octagon, Brock Lesnar has created a place for himself in the hearts of combat sports fans. Lesnar’s presence and skills are what make him such a big draw in both MMA and pro wrestling.
