For many, fighting is a job or a hobby. However, for UFC lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov, it’s a way of life. Even in the face of personal tragedy, he is finding solace in training.

Khabib Nurmagomedov posted a video on Instagram of him working a punching bag during training. He also wrote a message that reflected his ideology regarding why he never compromises with his training.
“Training is very good at relieving stress and aggression. Train and be kinder,” Khabib wrote on Instagram (translated via Google).

The former Sambo world champion is known for his pressuring style of fighting inside the Octagon. However, he often uses his striking to mix things up. Due to his extremely superior wrestling, his opponents often don’t worry that much about his striking. Consequently, the Dagestani juggernaut takes advantage of the same and catches his opponents.

Father of Khabib Nurmagomedov is in the hospital for the past few months
Abdulamanap Nurmagomedov, Khabib’s father contracted pneumonia-like symptoms. Consequently, he was hospitalized in a local hospital in Dagestan. After his condition worsened, the family shifted him to a military hospital in Moscow. It was later revealed that the Russian coach also had coronavirus. He later went into a medically induced coma.

It was not just the family patriarch that suffered from the virus. Multiple family members of the champ have lost their lives due to the global pandemic. Despite the challenges that he faces in his life, ‘The Eagle’ is not using them as an excuse to dodge any of his future fights. He still plans on fighting the interim champ Justin Gaethje later this year.

As far as his father’s health is concerned, the latest updates have been rather optimistic. In an interview with Russia’s Channel One, Khabib revealed that his father is out of the coma. However, the virus has taken its toll on his body. He recognizes the people around him but is still not able to communicate with them.
