While having a conversation about professional wrestling, Rogan commented on people underappreciated. He commended them for having extreme levels of agility and the level of hard work those athletes put in.

The conversation shifted to Kurt Angle. Rogan had asked his producer, Jamie Vernon, to pull up Angle’s picture. It was during this moment that the podcaster learned about the gold medalist’s broken neck.

Chris Bell told Rogan, “He won the Olympic gold medal with a broken neck and he’s still going.”

Startled by this statement, the comedian reaffirmed, “His neck was broken when he won the Olympics?”

Bell replied, “Yup, broken freakin neck.” He then continues, “not like broken in half but it was a fracture. He had a fracture in his neck and he still won.” 

Joe Rogan was stunned to hear this. He replied by saying, “What the Fu*k man!” 

The host further went on to comment on Kurt Angle’s neck. Staring at the picture, Rogan said, “Looks like a gopher living in his neck.” They then had a discussion over a picture Jamie had pulled up of Kurt and Ronda Rousey. The UFC commentary pointed out the fact that the size of Angle’s arm has shrunk, compared to how it used to be. 

Kurt Angle Had A Legendary Career

Kurt Angle is a decorated professional wrestler and an Olympic Gold medalist. The wrestler won the gold in the 1996, Atlanta Olympics. Angle after his Olympic career transitioned to professional wrestling. While he was in the WWE, he promoted the popular narrative of him winning the Olympic gold with a broken freakin’ neck.

He became a multiple-time WWE champion and also held the World heavyweight championship once. Kurt Angle was inducted into WWE’s Hall of Fame in 2017.
