The New York Yankees celebrate a clutch win over the Tampa Bay Rays
Prior to Sunday’s game, the Yankees knew a win would secure their spot in the AL wildcard game. However, they took on the Rays, who defeated them twice on the trot in their final three-game series of the season.
Although the last two games saw both teams garner many runs, Sunday’s game was anything but a high-scoring clash. Neither team could score a single run in eight innings. However, the Yankees dug deep in the bottom of the ninth innings to score a game-winning run and cruise to victory in astonishing style.
