Usain Bolt Expresses His Love for Manchester United Ahead of Soccer Aid Match

The legendary sprinter Usain Bolt is back in the North West to play for the Soccer Aid match. Apart from being a dominant sprinter, Bolt’s love for soccer is unmatchable. A follower of the great Manchester United FC, he attends most of their matches at Old Trafford. Nevertheless, he talked about his love for the club, ahead of his match against England.

The Soccer Aid matches started in 2006 and ITV has raised £60 million pounds for children’s charity UNICEF. With the likes of Roberto Carlos, Didier Drogba, and Wayne Rooney attending the matches, it will be interesting to see who steals the limelight.

Usain Bolt talks about Manchester United

Bolt will play for the Soccer Aid World XI side, captaining the team. He scored a goal in 2019 to give his team the victory.

With his love for soccer incredible, regularly attends Manchester United games in their stadium. He has posted pictures with Alex Ferguson while talking to players at the club. Hence, before the match, he spoke about what it felt like to be a United fan.

“It’s really chilled. It’s where United is so every chance I get that I can go see games is always a big thing to go to Old Trafford and just experience the atmosphere. I enjoy it it’s almost like I’m becoming part of the Manchester so it’s a good look,” said Bolt.

Moreover, the England team for the Soccer Aid match will see Gary Neville, former United right-back, appearing for the game. Leading the team from the front, Bolt hopes to retain the trophy after winning it last year.

A dream come true

Captaining the side is a dream that he had and he sounded excited when he talked about leading his side. Meeting different legends of the game is on his agenda, as Bolt cannot wait to get started.

“I look forward to seeing the legends because I love football, I watch a lot of football so seeing all these guys from [Patrice] Evra to Roberto Carlos it’s like a dream. Getting a chance to play with them on the same field, you never think that would have ever happened so it’s always wonderful to be there and enjoy the experience,” said Bolt.

At the moment, his Soccer Aid record saw him play three games, winning two matches while scoring two goals.
