Bodybuilding is a sport that has been a witness to a series of changes in the dynamics of the sport as well as its competitions over the years. This often makes room for fans to debate across various tangents. However, one such debate that captures the mood is naming their all-time favorite. We have always seen former bodybuilders argue about who, they’d consider, had the best body among their successors. Recently, Jay Cutler joins that team.

In a recent podcast from his YouTube channel, the 4-time Mr. Olympia winded up a debate and talked about how Dorian Yates was better than Ronnie Coleman. What made him say so? Let’s check out.

To defeat The King of bodybuilding was no easy game and Cutler understands that. In fact, reflecting upon defeating King’s 8-time winning streak, a modest Cutler said, “I didn’t beat the best Ronnie Coleman ever…I was just better that day.” While that is true, everyone has a fair chance to select their favorite. And The Shadow was hailed! To reason for this, Cutler conceded a fact where he thinks Dorian Yates had to face strong competitors, unlike Ronnie.

Cutler had the pleasure of watching Yates at his best during his 5th year of competing for the Mr. Olympia title. Significantly, he won the 1992, 1993, and 1994 Olympia and was coming for his fourth trophy. Of course, he did win that one by edging out Levrone, Ray, El Sonbaty, and even Coleman (who ended up in the 11th position).

Some even doubted that he would hardly get any chance to stand against the 6x champ. That’s when Jay came in front and gave answers that set the argument straight.

He slammed those comments and said he got the chance to defeat Ronnie and that made it pretty clear about his abilities. According to Cutler, there was nothing stronger to stand next to than Ronnie Coleman.
