An Olympic-level judoka, Ronda Rousey is widely considered one of the biggest names in all combat sports. In 2008, she became the first American woman to medal in the Olympics in Judo. She won the bronze medal, which added to her humongous appeal. She soon became an MMA professional, earning her most significant rise to fame. Throughout her career, Rousey has been on the receiving end of a lot of praise from many people, including Arnold Schwarzenegger.

In the buildup to one of the biggest events in the history of UFC, many A-list celebrities heaped praises on Rousey as she prepared to take on Holly Holm for the Bantamweight championship. The list included Rousey’s co-stars, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Talking about Ronda, Arnold said, “Ronda Rousey’s kind of like a female Terminator, that is relentless and feels no mercy, no pain, no remorse, no pity.” He added, “I think she’s going to break new grounds every single day.” However, it wasn’t meant to be as Rousey suffered a shock TKO at the hands of Holly Holm.

Rousey lost to Holm
In the run-up to UFC 193, Ronda was already the ‘baddest woman on the planet.’ She was a force to be reckoned with who had not lost a single match in her career. And standing before her was Holly Holm, who hoped to rewrite history.

In the 6 bouts Rousey had before UFC 193, she won all of them. 3 via knockout, and 3 by submission. She was a heavy favorite going into the match. But Holm had other plans in her mind, and she executed them brilliantly. She TKO’d Rousey in the second round of the bout. People were in disbelief as they saw Rousey go down with a busted face. Not only did Holly become the new Bantamweight champion, but she also had two other significant achievements. The first was she became the first UFC fighter to defeat Ronda. The second was that she outlasted all three of Rousey’s previous opponents combined.
