Despite not winning the Mr. Olympia contest in his life, Lee Labrada broke into the top 4 of the competition for seven consecutive years. At age 62, the 1985 Mr. Universe winner might be past his competitive prime but his body tells a different story. After having long battles on stage with the likes of legends like Lee Haney and Ronnie Coleman, Labrada isn’t entirely done with bodybuilding. He continues to burn it out in the gym often sharing his knowledge with the world. In one such attempt, the 62-year-old beast shared the secrets to his enormous biceps.

Taking to his Instagram, Labrada shared a post describing his current workout regime, specifically to grow his biceps. Logic dictates that Labrada was bound to gain traction with such huge biceps at his age.

Labrada wrote on his Instagram, “Here’ s what I’m currently doing for my biceps training! Swipe and check out the exercises. Please share with a friend who you think will benefit. Who can’t use an extra 1/2” on their arms? LOL”. Attached alongside was his picture with a dumbbell doing a bicep curl. His shredded arm was in full display. Elaborating on the detailed technique to build strong muscles in arms, Labrada has further shared subsequent videos on his Instagram page.

In the next video, he further explained his bicep routine with something called a ‘concentration curl’. He said, “The reason we call it a concentration curl is because you are concentrating all of the concentration on one arm at a time”. He then demonstrated it by placing his elbow on the inside of his leg against the bench, locking his upper arm without movement, and just curling the dumbbell upwards.

In another video, he talked about the preacher bench, which also allows him to lock his elbows and curl. Praising the machine, he said, “What it does is it really helps the throw of the stress on the biceps”. It is also more advantageous than just curling whilst standing up.

Lee Labrada has been an inspiration to many. His son, Hunter Labrada, a name synonymous with the elite group of top 10 Mr. Olympia contestants over the past three years, is no exception.
