Big Ramy might not have been able to defend his title at the recently concluded Mr. Olympia in Vegas, but his determination and focus to come back stronger next year looks firm. In his first interview after the biggest bodybuilding competition concluded, he talks about what keeps him humble, his respect towards everyone, and why he thinks Hadi Choopan is a great bodybuilder who deserved to win the title this year. But what was most interesting is who Ramy believes to be the ‘Greatest Bodybuilder Ever’. Spoiler Alert – It is not anyone from the known bodybuilding universe. Let’s find out more about it.

Big Ramy surprised the viewers of the Smilodox YouTube channel with his ‘Greatest Bodybuilder’ comment, and it’s someone very close to him. Ramy chooses this family member to take that ultimate crown. Who could it be?

The host asked Ramy who was his bodybuilding hero, someone who inspired him. Ramy, who weighs 295 lbs, answered, “It doesn’t change for me with my life. Because it started when I just started bodybuilding and I saw my brother. My brother has good genetics”. Ramy’s hero wasn’t anyone who had already made it big on the world stage. It wasn’t someone like Arnold Schwarzenegger or Markus Ruhl. Instead, his passion for bodybuilding started in his family, inspired by his brother.

Ramy continues, “I think he is the greatest bodybuilder ever, and he never goes to gym. He’s never been in the gym”. Just like charity, motivation also starts at home. After seeing his own elder brother train at home, it left an indelible impression on a very young Elssbiay. He understood what our body can achieve and what we can do with it.

Ramy was yet to enter the bodybuilding arena and therefore didn’t see anyone who was jacked and bulked up. He recalled, “I need to be like him,” and then called his brother the greatest again. It is understandable to find lifelong inspiration within the family. One can say that many men who have achieved greatness in their field only started following the path that their fathers pursued before them.

Later on, Big Ramy met various bodybuilders who were already pros. He said, “When I had my eyes, and they can see a lot of people, I said Victor Martinez – one of the best bodybuilders”. Ramy also expressed his tremendous shock at the prospect of Martinez never being a Mr. Olympia champion.

Big Ramy worked as a fisherman in Kuwait before he entered bodybuilding. He also touched upon this part of life when he mentioned his love for fish (mom’s home-cooked fish to be specific) and how much he craves it after a bodybuilding competition. Ramy’s bodybuilding career was at an all-time high during 2020-2021 when he won the Olympia two consecutive times. And little did people know it was his brother to thank for his tremendous success.
