The tragedy took place on January 7th, when the police stopped the young man and detained him for reckless driving. Footage released later showed the officers brutally beating him up. As per BBC, despite being admitted to the hospital, Nichols succumbed to his injuries a few days later. Amidst ongoing protests, Shriver took to social media to speak up about this.
