In his book Never Grow Up, Chan chose to be an open chapter to his readers. While giving a glimpse into every trial, success, and even devastating phase of his life, the martial artist penned the on-and-off relationship with his son too. He shared a story where Jaycee called him to wish him a Happy Father’s Day. As a man of principle, Chan never believed that there can’t be one special day to remember one’s father. He wrote, “If someone means a lot to you, then every day is Valentine?s Day, Christmas, or Mother?s Day.”

However, when his son wished him, “Happy Father?s Day!?, Chan replied, “Don?t bother calling me on Father?s Day or my birthday, just call me more often!? Significantly, the martial artist-turned-actor had his way of honoring the value of his relationships. But unfortunately, Jaycee didn’t take it too well and hardly called his father from then on.

Eventually, Chan decided to donate all his money to the charitable organization, just to teach Jaycee a valuable lesson.
