International action-comedy king, Jackie Chan, is a man worth 400 million dollars. Over the years, with his hard work and dedication, Chan has accumulated a considerable amount of real estate all over the world. These include more than one house in countries like China, Singapore, Hong Kong, and more. While he has been able to manage them well till now, Chan is worried that after his death his houses will turn to ruins. Chan does not know who can manage his property after him as he did.

One might think that the iconic actor’s son might take over for Chan, but the latter believes his son Jaycee Chan is not interested in his wealth or taking care of his houses. Therefore, ‘The Spy Next Door’ actor is out there looking for careful custodians to find his “houses a home.”

Jackie Chan opened up about his concern for his houses

In his memoir Never Grow Up, legendary actor Jackie Chan has given a detailed account of how he got attached to his buildings to the point that thinking about their future gave the star anxiety. In his book, Chan mentioned that at one point in time, he was into collecting old buildings with great architectural value, restoring and dismantling them, and then keeping them safe as warehouses. However, after staying as warehouses for decades, they began to decay again which once again called for their restoration.

It was at this point, that, Chan realized he needs to let these buildings go and find new owners. “I’m in my sixties now, and my anxiety about finding my houses a home hasn’t let up. If I don’t give them away to careful custodians before I die, they’ll just end up as so much wooden rubbish,” Chan confessed in his book.

Furthermore, he explained why his son Jaycee wasn’t the right fit to carry on this legacy. “Whenever Jaycee comes by my office and sees me working on them, he has zero interest. He’s not the person to continue this work after I’m gone. I don’t know who is!”, said Chan. However, the legend is optimistic he’ll find a suitable owner soon. Moreover, this isn’t the first time Chan has talked about not leaving his wealth behind for his son.

Who will inherit Chan’s $400 million

In an interview in 2011, Jackie Chan confessed that he doesn’t plan on leaving his money for his son. Instead, after his demise, every last dollar of his money will be donated. Talking about his son who should traditionally be inheriting the amount, Chan believed that if his son is capable enough, then he can earn his own money. If not, then he doesn’t deserve to enjoy wealth without hard work.

Either way, Jaycee Chan won’t be receiving a penny from his father Jackie Chan after his death. The only thing he will be inheriting from his father is life lessons. Chan has given some valuable lessons to his son while growing up and taught him to fight his own battles.
