Enter the Dragon was a game-changer in Hollywood. Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris became one of the biggest rival pairs on screen, especially given the well-choreographed fight scene in the end. The blockbuster and the fight opened the floodgates to comments, theories, and compliments from fans of both stars. And Norris didn’t hesitate to reflect on the phenomenon.

In a rare footage found by the YouTube channel Beerdy – Bruce Lee Central, Chuck Norris sat down to talk about the success of?Enter the Dragon. While he reflected on the earnings and fan reactions, the actor shared his true feelings about shooting the fight scene.

Chuck Norris v/s Bruce Lee: The epic battle that won hearts

The interview began with Norris revealing how?Enter the Dragon earned about $60 million worldwide. And with its overall success, the actor agreed on how enjoyable it was to shoot for certain scenes with Bruce Lee. When it came to the epic fight scene, where Lee and Norris went head-to-head, the actor had a strong feeling about how it ended and how he found it.

The scene ends with Norris losing against Lee. And while it would seem like the actor would harbor some kind of animosity towards the legend for this, he debunked this theory. In fact, Chuck Norris was more than happy about the entire fight scene. Considering how the movie and the scene became one of the classic examples of a well-curated and well-choreographed fight, it impressed the star.

Norris smiled and revealed how he loved working with Bruce Lee. He and the legend were friends even before Enter the Dragon came into existence. And the fight scene was a moment of pride for both of them. Norris smiled and recalled,?“the fight scene is considered the classic martial art fight scene of all time. So, it’s nice to be involved in a fight scene that everyone loves.” But how did this scene come into play?

How Clint Eastwood, Italy, and Lee came together for the fight scene of a lifetime

Lee was quite inspired by the life and career of Clint Eastwood and how he found success. Establishing a base in Italy and slowly having graduated to the west, Eastwood’s life gave Lee an idea for one of the most important scenes in his filmography – the fight between him and Chuck Norris at the Colosseum.

The idea for the location came from Kirk Douglas?s Colosseum battle in Spartacus (1960). Since the location was also reminiscent of Eastwood going to Italy for his success, Lee decided to go forth. The efforts were fruitful, and?Enter the Dragon was one of the iconic Hollywood movies by Bruce Lee.
