Austria witnessed some of the most iconic events in recent times. Lindsey Vonn recently became the first woman ever to ski The Streif, Austria touted as the most difficult slope in the world. Soon after, she graced the 57th Alpine Skiing World Cup in Kitzbuhel. To her surprise and delight, the Austrian Oak, Arnold Schwarzenegger, graced the event too.
As fitness enthusiasts and passionate about skiing, one can be sure that the skiing icon and the bodybuilding legend had a great time catching up in the Skiing World Cup event. Vonn took to Instagram to share an adorable picture of the two set in the backdrop of the snowy mountains.

The queen of downhills posted a picture of the duo. Sporting winter gear with snowflakes splashed all over the frame, the Instagram story captioned, “Was great to see you @schwarzenegger.” It is natural to speculate what a conversation between two legends would be about. The pictures of the two big names in the sports fraternity reveal they certainly had some important things to talk about.
Despite retirement, the Olympic medalist skier continues to make the skiing world proud of her indomitable spirit. However, she is concerned about the future of winter sports. Interestingly, Vonn’s concern and Schwarzenegger’s effort to enlighten people about the dire consequences of global warming find an intersection in climate change.

In an interview with Yahoo Finance in 2022, the name synonymous with skiing, Vonn, expressed her worry about the unprecedented pace of disappearing snow due to global warming.
Vonn expressed her fear that if global warming continues at its current rate, skiing may become extinct. In connection with this, Schwarzenegger’s battle against pollution and climate change for more than twenty years comes to mind.
