This is evident in a 2019 footage of a terrifying surfing mishap.
The video was posted on YouTube by Pedro Miranda and gained remarkable recognition from netizens. The footage displayed a big wave surfer toppling over his surfboard with a wave chasing him. Moreover, the surfer was rescued by a jet skier from a following gigantic wave that could’ve undoubtedly drowned him. Here’s what happened.

As the video revealed, a veteran surfer, Salvador Villas-Boas was breezing through a big wave in Nazare, Portugal. Abruptly. he sloped from his board and plummeted right into the waters, as the following giant wave spread out its claws over him. However, this was not the end of Boas’s misfortune. Soon, pro jet skier, Ramon Laureano heroically reached out to the surfer’s rescue and intended to give him a swift ride back to the shore. But that wasn’t meant to be.
A majestic 100-foot wave was swelling up while the two settled in. As the skier throttled up, the wave instantly rammed down and pounded the two head-on. Moments later, they were almost invisible amidst the milky foam when their jet floated right up. “To pick up someone directly on the first peak’s impact zone between waves is something you don’t see every day here. Ramon was a real hero, no doubt,” the capturer, Miranda said to sources.

As per a report by the Culture Trip, one of the most terrifying surf accidents was recorded in 2017. American surfer, Balaram Stack talked about observing a paddling surfer getting hit face-off with a reef. The incident took place in Long Beach. “This dude had smashed his face into the reef. From the side of his nose, all the way down to his lip was in half, and there was a golf ball indent above his eyebrow,” he revealed.
The injured surfer dropped unconscious when Stack rushed to his rescue. He vouched to give CPR, which helped the former regain his senses. Unsurprisingly, the episode left a traumatizing effect on Stack. Hence, he stated, “It’s hard to get that out of your mind.”
