“Don’t Wanna Go Full Bruce Lee”: ‘Captain America’ Chris Evans Made a Candid Confession on Earning Recognition in the Avengers in 2015

Therefore, actors like Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. have referred to Lee’s contributions to Hollywood. According to the star, the movie Avengers failed to show Captain America’s true potential. Whereas, movies like Winter Soldier represented the extraordinary capabilities of the character. He, therefore, felt the need to level up in terms of the fighting style.
The star recalled Bruce Lee’s fighting style and made a quick comparison. “His fight style needs to advance a little bit. I don’t wanna go full Bruce Lee, but there needs to be more than just haymakers and fun kicks,” he pointed out. Being an ardent member of the Marvel community for so long, Evans went beyond the script with his character study.

Did Lee inspire other Marvel heroes?
Chris Evans was not the only Marvel hero impacted by Bruce Lee’s methods and teachings. Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. also credits overcoming one of his greatest struggles to Lee. Through the process of learning Bruce Lee’s original Kung Fu style, RDJ once won the battle against addiction.
Robert Downey Jr. is a trained Wing Chun Kung Fu artist with a black belt. The star picked up various lessons from the martial arts form that encouraged him on his journey to abstinence. In an interview with Joe Rogan, the star confessed, “I got my a** kicked by a wooden dummy for about three years, and then I finally understood the principle of ‘Don’t fight force with force’.” Although Bruce Lee left a void in Hollywood, his teachings continue to inspire current-day actors.
