As the medical teams arrived at the scene, the girls showed unexpected courage. They recounted the harrowing moment they fell off their horses and kept themselves conscious enough to receive medical attention in time.

The Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics were also on-site within moments, ready to administer aid. Further, they summoned a Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter. One of the girls then became unconscious and was quickly airlifted to the Queensland Children’s Hospital. The second teen, stable yet shaken, was transported by ambulance to Gayndah Hospital. Later news reports revealed that both girls were out of danger and safe.
