Canada’s rising star Bianca Andreescu captured headlines when she won the US Open 2019. During that tournament, the then 19-year-old teenager beat the legendary Serena Williams in her first Grand Slam final appearance. In doing that, she became the first Canadian player to lift a Grand Slam title.
However, things have been dicey for Bianca Andreescu since then. She was absent from the women’s Tour after suffering from a knee injury during the season-ending WTA Finals in 2019. The Canadian star returned at the Australian Open this year after a 15-month absence, and her stint ended in the second round.

Andreescu featured at the Australian Open this season, but her journey didn’t last long. The injury she suffered in the 2019 season still bothered her. After that, she skipped three WTA events in order to not further aggravate her knee.
Bianca’s first Major appearance was at Wimbledon in 2017. However, she was handed a first-round defeat. In the following year, she failed to qualify to the main draw of any of the four Grand Slams.
