As a formidable force on the hardwood, Caitlin Clark’s blueprint journey has been disrupted by a series of injuries. But this roadblock hasn’t stopped the Indiana Fever star from shining. After all, she commanded headlines even from the courtside. From arguing with the referees and dictating plays from the bench to cheering for her teammates after the remarkable 2025 Commissioner’s Cup win, Clark ensured the spotlight never strayed far. But the best was yet to come.
Clark turned heads when she stepped on the orange carpet last week. Despite stepping down as the captain of Team Clark and withdrawing her name from the 3-point challenge, the 2-time All-Star showed up at the mid-season event in a classic black Prada ensemble. While her tunnel fit gained widespread appreciation from all quarters, people could not stop gushing about her off-court deals with Nike.
After dropping an exclusive Caitlin Clark x Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Indiana Fever” edition on June 30, 2025, the sports brand unveiled a life-size billboard of Clark on the JW Marriott, welcoming the stars to Indianapolis. While this cemented the player’s deep-rooted relationship with Nike, a recent clip has gone viral, further justifying their ties on social media. The viral video features Clark checking out of the Indianapolis hotel after All-Star weekend. The caption read, “CC leaving the hotel with 20 Nike bags and an entourage. A baddie.”

The cameras caught the reigning rookie exiting the premises with five large white Nike bags and four black luggage, all branded by the swoosh label. While the sports brand established its broad presence in Clark’s life, this incident also led to widespread yet organic marketing. And who better than Caitlin Clark to promote it! But this is not the only thing that captured fans’ attention.
The video surfaced after the failed CBA talks and shows Clark walking out with an entourage. Despite making roughly $75,000 annually under a four-year $338k contract, the fact that a second-year player can afford an entourage speaks volumes. After all, her four-year earnings from Nike roughly average around $14 million! With an impressive market value and being the face of the league, Clark does not receive the kind of monetary appreciation that she deserves.
While Caitlin Clark’s latest clip featuring an entourage sparked an online debate, it took us back to the recent CBA negotiations. As 40 players turned up in the historic meeting, Commissioner Cathy Engelbert had a different outlook on the issue altogether. Though she understood the sentiment of the WNBPA, Cathy emphasised that the players would understand the league’s decision after a couple of years.
This is predominantly why most players resort to various other channels of generating revenue. While they might not boast of an entourage just yet, some athletes join European and different international clubs and leagues, while others resort to brand partnerships and endorsements.
Besides, when the CBA negotiations on revenue sharing and salary growth hit a deadlock, several athletes, including Caitlin Clark, rookie Paige Bueckers, and others, turned up during warmups in black t-shirts with “Pay us what you owe us” printed across. And with Clark sitting out, thanks to her ongoing right groin injury, the Indiana Fever has a special surprise in store for the locker room.

The jerseys included a stylised red-printed font from the series. It also featured Demogorgon claw accents and a hidden tribute (011 on the waistband) to the show that is set in Hawkins, Indiana. Moreover, the news comes ahead of the season 5 release, which will premiere in November and December 2025.
These limited edition jerseys are up for grabs in adult and youth sizes from July 23 onwards. But marketing aside, the Fever will be back on court on the 24th, facing the Las Vegas Aces in the new uniforms. Can the latest jerseys serve as a lucky charm for the roster on the Gainbridge Fieldhouse arena, or send them down the rabbit hole with another loss in their belt? Guess we’ll have to wait and watch.
