It was a weekend to remember in Indianapolis. From Caitlin Clark and A’ja Wilson to Napheesa Collier, the league’s brightest stars came together to put on a show. The StudBudz had everyone laughing with their hilarious roasts. But the action on the court was nonstop as well! From the skills challenge to the 3-point contest and finally, the All-Star Game itself, it was an electrifying weekend! But perhaps the best part of the weekend was players bringing out their fashion game!

Blending fashion with sports has become the ultimate power move, and as you would expect, the WNBA is leading the way. It’s more than just outfits; it’s self-expression. Its identity. Have you noticed how Angel Reese uses her fashion to elevate her brand? She’s not alone. Almost every WNBA star today walks into the arena like it’s their personal fashion week ramp.

Why? Because fans love it. It builds connection and adds that extra special factor during a game day! As Aliyah Boston put it, “I think it just kind of gets the fans a little bit more excited about seeing all the outfits.” And she’s right. That being said, Caitlin Clark had something pretty interesting to say about Kelsey Plum’s All-Star outfit photoshoot, and you wouldn’t wanna miss that!

After the conclusion of the All-Star game, Kelsey Plum took to Instagram to post her stunning outfit designed by celebrity designer Karla Welch, captioning it with a simple “What a weekend 🧡🧡🧡.” But little did she know that innocent post was about to make her the target of some playful roasting by CC herself!

The Indiana superstar had eagle eyes and spotted what many missed! A part of the Nike swoosh logo was photobombing the picture! Clark couldn’t resist the opportunity to pounce, sliding into the comments saying, “Thank u for the Nike ad.”  For those unaware, Kelsey Plum signed a multi-year deal with Under Armour back in 2022 and has been the face of their women’s division ever since. So, having that Nike swoosh crash her fashion party was like accidentally promoting the competition–well, at least that’s what Clark sarcastically implies!

Being a Nike athlete herself, Clark couldn’t help but make the joke, which now has over 200 likes on it! Clark signed a massive 8-year, $28 million deal with Nike in April 2024, which to date is the biggest sneaker deal in WNBA history. Speaking of sneaker deals, Clark’s Nike contract came with a signature shoe deal. It’s been over a year since that announcement, and fans still don’t have any updates. Naturally, they’re getting restless. But finally, there might be some light at the end of the tunnel–word is that positive developments are finally happening behind the scenes!

What’s your perspective on:

Did Caitlin Clark's Nike jab at Kelsey Plum hit the mark or miss the point entirely?

Caitlin Clark to get her own signature logo

In a time when stars like Sabrina Ionescu, A’ja Wilson, and Angel Reese are all landing their own signature shoes, fans are still waiting on Caitlin Clark’s. Earlier this year, Nike CEO Elliott Hill threw fans a bone, confirming that Clark had actually visited their headquarters to work on developing her signature shoe and logo. And after waiting for ages, there is some good news to share!

Yes, Sports Illustrated just dropped the news that Nike is planning to unveil Caitlin Clark’s official logo this November. The first real step toward her signature shoe! But as for when we’ll actually see those shoes hit the market? Well, that’s still anyone’s guess! But rest assured– it won’t be much longer.

The same can not be said about Clark’s return on the court. After suffering another groin injury, this time on her right leg, against the Suns, CC had to, much to the dismay of fans globally, withdraw from the All-Star game. Although she was a major part of the All-Star festivities, even selling basketballs from a stall, it was still quite disappointing not to see her hooping on the court. But caution and patience should be adhered, when it comes to managing CC’s injury. Hopefully, she isn’t rushed back from her injury and gets the necessary time to recuperate.
