Most significantly, Wimbledon Championships 2021 will start on June 28, and their attendance will be vital. Given their early exit, Barty and Osaka have time to regroup and reestablish their 2021 season.
However, it is a rare occasion in tennis where the top two seeds at Roland-Garros departed before the third round. Consequently, other women players have a significant chance to make the most of it.
Who benefited the most from Barty and Osaka’s withdrawal at French Open 2021?
2019 Roland-Garros champion Barty was one of the biggest favorites for the title. Therefore, her withdrawal has left the draw quite wide open.

This has surely upped chances for Serena Williams to clinch her long-awaited 24th Grand Slam title. Notable contenders remaining are last year’s winner Iga Swiatek and finalist Sofia Kenin.
