As Venus moves on the path of recovery from her injuries, her upcoming schedule came to light. She won’t be seen in action again this year. Although the seven-time Grand Slam champion will skip next year’s Australian Open, Venus will make a grand comeback in her home country where she’ll play in Indian Wells and Miami.

Confusion creates havoc regarding Venus’ comeback

Recently, it was suggested that Venus will be making a comeback at the WTA 250 Jasmin Open in Monastir, Tunisia. The tournament, which is ongoing currently, might have proven to be a great platform for her to come back to tennis. She even got a wildcard to play in the event.

Along with singles, Venus was also set to play doubles with Ons Jabeur. However, the latter announced her withdrawal from the tournament, saying, “Everyone, so sorry that I have to withdraw because my knee is not feeling so great and I would just want to say that I love my time here in Zhengzhou and hopefully I can come back next time. Thank you for the fans for cheering for me and hope to come back next year. Thank you.”

As a result, Venus too pulled out of the tournament and the playing list excluded her name. With Venus done for 2023 on the tennis front, it remains to be seen if she can come back stronger next year.
