Ashleigh Barty has had an amazing start to the 2022 season. The Australian World Number 1 lifted the Adelaide International 1 title before the Australian Open 2022. Further, the 25-year-old entered her ‘home’ Grand Slam as the top seed and local favorite.
She has carried the hopes of the millions of Australians and justified her ‘favorite’ tag so far. The Australian has dominated each of her opponents en route to the summit clash against Danielle Collins of the USA.

Her performances on the court have invited words of appreciation from her fellow players on the tour as well as past legends of the game. Her consistency on the court is unmatched currently on the WTA tour. Serena Williams’ coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, has opened up on the dominance shown by Ashleigh Barty in dispatching her opponents.

The French tennis coach gave his view on the Australian’s dominance in women’s tennis. He said, “the reason why Ashleigh Barty is so dominant is because she has the full package. Barty is a player who feels the game. Every choice she makes is tactically right.”

Further, he added, “She’s serving extremely well. She plays a tennis that is super efficient, without any weaknesses, and being able to take advantage of all the weaknesses of the opponents. In the rally, she has all the shots. She’s able to manipulate the opponent with slice, with aggressive shots. She can play with spin, so she has a full package of tools.”

However, the legendary coach feels, “The last piece of the puzzle for Ashleigh Barty is the mental consistency, but the level of mental aggressiveness of Danielle Collins is almost unmatched on tour.” He pointed out a vulnerability in Barty’s game and said that if Collins attacks the top-seeded Australian’s serve well, she could be in with a chance.
