The seven-time Grand Slam champion has a big summer ahead of her. Venus hasn’t found much success on the more competitive WTA level, she is still moving in the right direction, trying to be her best. Meanwhile, her Wimbledon wildcard has created a debacle among tennis fans. The former world number one in a recent interview with NBC Sports, talked about the two factors that actually decide her time on the tennis court.

She said, “You can be the strongest, fastest player in the world with the best technique. But if you’re not mentally strong, you’ll never be able to succeed at the highest level. If I weren’t consciously working to sustain my mental health. I wouldn’t be able to play as long as I have at this level.”

The 66-year-old tennis icon tweeted her appreciation for Wimbledon’s decision after hearing this incredible news. She retweeted a post that talked about her wildcard and wrote, “Ditto. A no-brainer.”
On one hand, the 59-time Grand Slam champion believes in Williams’ skill as a tennis player. Just a month ago, another retired tennis player focused on the fact that her presence may pose a challenge for the young players, eagerly waiting to show off their tennis abilities.
