The 2023 US Open semi-final match between America’s favorite Coco Gauff and Karolina Muchova is in the news for all the bizarre reasons. Some climate protestors decided to interrupt crucial matches, ultimately leading to the play’s suspension. Gauff got angry as she dominated the match and was in a good rhythm. But the security lapse irked her, and the New York Police Department (NYPD) had to intervene to take hold of the situation.

The suspension caused a stir in the social media. Though fans understand the cause, they are displeased with the measures that climate protestors take. One protestor switched on his creative mode as he had no plans to leave the stadium.

The US Open Security and the NYPD began their efforts to remove the protestors from the stadium. But one man was stubborn enough to glue his feet to the ground so that he would achieve his ulterior motive. The US Open officials might be new to the situation, but NYPD has seen worse. This protest is nothing but a mere drama for NYPD to tackle.

The tennis blogs and reporters had a field day on social media as they were on their fingers to update the tennis fans on the ongoing situation. Netflix’s docuseries now has enough content on a single semi-final match of the Flushing Meadows as the issue snowballed before NYPD handcuffed him.

A sports reporter revealed, ”The man has been removed – 35 mins since the protest/disruption began.”

Muchova relied mainly on the teen’s Forehand weakness, and it could only win her considerable points, but not a set. The fight for the last point finally ended after a 40-shot rally, with Gauff securing her winning point. The final scorecard read 6-4, 7-5. The American teenager is in the final of the US Open, and Americans cannot wait to savor the moment of Gauff’s win.
