The movie ‘King Richard’ has stolen the hearts of many. Venus Williams and Serena Williams assisted in the making of the movie and were the executive producers as well. At the premiere of the movie, the starring actor Will Smith shared a fun moment with Venus Williams by crashing her interview. Will Smith has played the role of Richard Williams, the father of the two tennis legends in the movie, and won the ‘Best Actor’ award at the 94th Academy Awards last weekend.

The players had made it clear that they would not associate their names with the movie till they saw it. After seeing the movie though, the players thanked Will for showing the true depiction of their father. The actor has won his first Oscar for his role in the movie. During the premiere of the movie, Venus Williams was giving an interview. After spotting Will Smith, Venus engages in friendly banter with the actor.

Venus Williams appreciates Will Smith
The player was giving an interview when she saw Will Smith. She greeted him and said, “I am just bragging on you”. She commended the actor’s professionalism and expressed that she has learned from him how to be professional despite being a professional herself. When he asked what did she say, former World No. 1 replied, “I said as a professional I have learnt from you as a professional. I thought that there was nothing else to learn and there you are”. Then they hugged it out with each other.

In a reply to that, the actor said, “It was my honor to honor you and to honor your family. It is one of the greatest pleasures of my career”. The movie pays a tribute to the father of two of the greatest tennis players. Richard Williams, their father has been instrumental in shaping their careers and helping them realize their dreams. Moreover, the Williams sisters have been role models to millions throughout the world and they have proved time and again that nothing ever beats sheer dedication and hard work.

Off-late, however, the tennis legends Venus and Serena Williams have been sidelined due to their injuries. Nonetheless, through their off-court ventures, they continue to inspire and motivate people. It remains to be seen how the Williams sisters fare once they return to the tour after a long injury layoff.
