Naomi Osaka on her mental strength

Currently, on hiatus, Osaka is waiting to welcome her first child with her boyfriend, Cordae. Till then, the Japanese player is working on her ventures aside from tennis. Recently, the former number 1 appeared in an interview to promote her production company, Hana Kuma. In the interview, Osaka was questioned about how she maintains her mental health while preparing for matches.

The Japanese player stated that meditation is her go-to method for maintaining mental strength. Although not done in the traditional manner, it has helped her out.

I really love meditation, um, kind of taking time to myself. Whether it’s listening to music or just going on a walk like in whatever City I’m in just to like feel the nature and feel the breeze, I think for me that’s really effective.

While many look to empty their minds, Osaka chooses to take a different approach.

Honestly, for me, I don’t think about quieting my thoughts. I kind of just let them run at its course because I feel like when I try to quiet them, they just get louder. So I just kind of let them go on until it just silences itself out.”
