In an interview with Outside the Ball, Pliskova described the inspiration behind her tattoos. She got her first tattoo on her left arm, back when she was 15 years old. She has one on her left thigh and the other one on her waist. The World No. 13 revealed that the second tattoo on her left thigh is inspired by the Maori tribe of New Zealand. Her whole family shares a similar tattoo.
She got her third tattoo on her waist; it is an ‘M’ sign inked for her husband, Michal Hrdlicka.

Pliskova’s family reacts to her first tattoo
Karolina Pliskova got her first tattoo at the age of 15, as a result of her fascination for tattoos. Her father was okay with her decision; however, her mother did not like it at first.
“My father was fine, but my mom wasn’t really happy with that. But she got over it somehow,” said Pliskova. It was all good at the end, as her mother got a tattoo as well later on when the family decided on the Maori tattoo.
