Naomi Osaka‘s company Hana Kuma recently started its own podcast show. The YouTube show ‘Can’t Wait to Hear From You’ has been built for celebrities to make their inner voices heard. In the upcoming months, we can expect some of the biggest names in the world to feature in the show. But for now, the opening episode is out featuring Naomi Osaka herself.

The four-time major champion spoke at lengths in the first episode of the show. She mainly dished on pregnancy life, and how she plans to enter motherhood. However, towards the end, Osaka revealed a piece of valuable advice that she received from her father.

Naomi Osaka weighs in on her dad’s advice

During the podcast, Osaka was asked if there was any particular area where she wanted to develop or improve. The former world number 1 then reflected back on her dad’s special advice.

Osaka said, “I want to be less reactive. I was talking to my dad one day and he said the cause of anger is not understanding. Then I started thinking about all the times I got angry and I was like…maybe I didn’t understand the situation

Osaka said that she wishes to improve on this aspect and become less reactive. On the court, Osaka has always been one of the calmest athletes. However, there was one instance when emotions got the better of Naomi Osaka and infuriated the Japanese star.

When Osaka showed a wide range of emotions

Well, this might be the only time the fans would witness the angry side of Naomi Osaka. During her Australian Open Round 3 match in 2019, Osaka showed a wide range of emotions by screaming at her box and smashing rackets. She was on the verge of facing an early exit after losing the first set and failing to find a rhythm in the second.

However, Osaka turned the tie around and registered an emphatic win over Hsieh Su-Wei. After the match, she admitted not being herself for the first half of the tie. The four-time major champion believed that calming herself down improved her performance significantly, thereby helping her win. She then went on to win the grand slam in the following week.
