In a conversation with the former American professional tennis player, Mary Joe Fernandez, Gilbert further emphasized his belief in the skills and talent of Gauff and said, “I think things are going really well. She plays her first match tomorrow. And I think she’s gonna win the US Open in September, you know, on the dates, and I wrote down September 9”.
