Iga Swiatek has always openly expressed her views and never failed to set her priorities. The Pole has received criticism and negative comments simply for being herself. However, she overcame it all to reach the summit of the tennis world. Swiatek lost to Elina Svitolina in the Wimbledon Championships, following which she became the target of attacks. But she refrained from addressing them and proved that these things do not affect her game.

The four-time Grand Slam champion did not lose a match after her loss at the grass slam. She immediately proceeded to win a title on her home turf, the Poland Open, without losing a set in the entire tournament. She is reigning in the Canadian Open, where sponsors surprised her with a sweet gesture.

The World Number 1 beat Danielle Collins in the quarter-finals of the Canadian Open. The Pole’s straight-set winning streak had already been broken by Karolina Muchova, and even Collins did not give her a chance to start over. However, Swiatek battled it out and won 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 against the American player. Though her win might not have come as much of a surprise, the gift she received did.

In the post-match interview, the 15 singles titles winner was confronted with a wish she made on Twitter. The interviewer held a huge signboard with her name, saying he heard about her wish. When Swiatek was asked how winning the match felt, she replied, “Great! I really wanted to, you know, kind of, play powerful, and pretty happy that I managed to even increase the power in third set.”

Swiatek added, “For sure, I was looking for that (signboard). It’s pretty good to play on this stadium, and thank you guys for the support because the atmosphere is pretty amazing.” How did the fans know that the Pole was longing for a signboard with her name on it?

The story behind gifting the Pole a most wanted signboard

In the second round of the Canadian Open, Swiatek defeated Muchova, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4. Sponsors decorated a stand for the US Open champion with a signboard flashing her name. It read, ‘Go Iga Go.’ The official account of  the National Bank Open posted the picture on Twitter, and the WTA No. 1 replied, “Can I have one of these please?😅.”

She asked, and the sponsors granted her wish. Even fans on Twitter posted a lot of similar signboards for her under the comments soon after Swiatek revealed her love for it. Two days later, she had it in her hands, and the Pole celebrated by clicking some goofy and adorable pictures.
