The WTA Nottingham Open has reached its final stages and now, only the best in the tournament remain. With the stage slowly setting for the finals, the players are now determined to do whatever it takes to reach the finals. One among those is Karolina Pliskova who has shown exceptional run of form and looks unstoppable at the moment. With now but title in her sight, she will be looking to take down her French opponent Diane Parry in the semis.
However, the French star, throughout the course of the event has also shown that she is also a hard nut to crack. With so much at stake for both the stars, who amongst the two will come out on top in an intriguing showdown?

Ranked No. 50, Karolina Pliskova reached the semifinals after defeating Alycia Parks, Heather Watson, and Ons Jabeur. In the quarterfinals, she beat Jabeur in a tough match (7-6, 6-7, 7-5), with both scoring 126 points. Pliskova’s aggressiveness made the difference, hitting 65 winners.
She served 7 aces and had 7 double faults. Pliskova lost her serve once but saved 5 break points. She had a 68% first-serve success rate, winning 74% of those points, and 50% of her second-serve points. Karolina Pliskova broke Jabeur’s serve twice, converting 50% of her break points (2/4).

On the other hand, her opponent, Diane Parry reached the semifinals by beating Cristina Bucsa, Daria Saville, and Kimberly Birrell. In the quarterfinals, she won against Birrell in straight sets (6-3, 7-6). Parry scored 87 points to Birrell’s 79, showing strong aggression with 32 winners.

When it comes to the head-to-head stats between the two players, the scores are leveled. Apparently, these two superstars haven’t faced each other once in their careers and this will be the first-ever meeting between the two. Prediction: Karolina Pliskova could enter the finals with a straight-set win
As things stand, Karolina Pliskova looks like the heavy favorite to clinch the win and make her way to the final. After her quarter-final win over Ons Jabeur, she would have the momentum coming in and would like to keep it going and use it as her strength against her French rival.
Parry, who hasn’t lost even a single set in the tournament will be looking to fight as hard as she can and look to upset the 6th seeded player in Nottingham here.
