All this definitely fired Strickland up, who didn’t say a word that night on Dynamite. But Strickland made his point by defeating Adam Page in the Texas Death Match at Full Gear on Saturday. This was Strickland’s first and Page’s 4th Texas Death Match. The rules of the Texas Death Match are that the opponent needs to be pinned and then a 10-count is initiated. If the opponent fails to get up by the count of 10, he has lost the match.

And that’s exactly what Strickland did at Full Gear. He crushed Adam Page in one of the most brutal matches that wrestling fans have ever seen. This match left both the superstars bloodied by the end of the bout. But as all this brutality ensued, fans noticed that Strickland’s ring gear was very similar to that of ‘The Fiend’. And post his win, Strickland even posted a story on his Instagram paying tribute to Wyatt with the caption, “RIP BRAY”.

This all started with Page’s match against Strickland at WrestleDream in October. Strickland won the match by using Prince Nana’s crown as a weapon.
Then Strickland and Prince Nana made his rivalry with the former AEW World champion more personal by breaking into Page’s house when he was away. They went straight to the crib in which Page’s son was resting.

And hence he challenged Strickland to a Texas Death Match at AEW Full Gear. The rest as they say is history. The quality of their bout at Full Gear resonated with pro wrestling fans just as much as his gesture involving Wyatt. So what are your thoughts on Strickland paying tribute to the late Bray Wyatt at Full Gear?
