Pro wrestling promos are often made to entertain the audience. But sometimes promos do get extra personal. As in the case of the promo on AEW’s Dynamite last night between ‘Hangman’ Adam Page and Swerve Strickland.

Page not only got Strickland’s family involved, but also made the fans laugh with his comment on Prince Nana.

Adam Page has been in a heated feud with Swerve Strickland since WrestleDream in October. Strickland won the match by using Prince Nana’s crown as a weapon. Following that, the rivalry got more personal as Nana and Strickland broke into Page’s house when he was away.

They then went straight to the crib in which Page’s son was resting. Luckily no harm was done but Page was furious when he got to know of his home invasion. This led to Page demanding a Texas Death Match with Strickland at AEW Full Gear. This will be Page’s 4th Texas Death Match. A Texas Death Match is very similar to a Last Man Standing Match. The only addition is that the opponent needs to be pinned after which a 10-count is initiated.

And with just two days to go for the PPV, Page and Strickland came face to face to confront each other at Dynamite last night. Prince Nana was also by Strickland’s side as usual and hence had to bear some of the brunt of Page’s fury.

Page got extra personal with Strickland and even brought up his firing from the WWE. He then went on to say, “You are not the man you think you are. It’s the reason your fiance left you, and it’s the reason your kids won’t talk to you!”. But what set the fans rolling with laughter was what Page said to Prince Nana in the end. He said, “But ‘Nana, after I beat Swerve’s a**, I’m gonna beat your a** and steal your w**d”.

Fans in the arena then added to Nana’s misery by chanting “Steal his w**d” in unison which got Nana seemingly furious. But this was also a laugh riot for fans on Twitter.

Fans called this Adam Page’s greatest promo in AEW

As if fans in the arena were not trolling Prince Nana enough, they later took to social media to laugh and give their opinion on this superb promo by Adam Page.

One fan joked that this quote should be on a t-shirt.

Another fan thought the threat to Strickland was well deserved, as he had made it personal first.

Meanwhile another praised Adam Page for his exceptional skills of delivering a power-packed promo.

One fan believed it was more of a set up for Page to ultimately win at the PPV, by getting his insults in loud and clear ahead of their match.

Adam Page even went on to call Strickland a “child” and said that he would be teaching him the last lesson of his life.

One take at a time

I still vividly remember the time when WWE VHS's used to be played on cable movie channels every Sunday(early 90s in India). And that's where my love for the WWE began. My love and passion for pro wrestling only grew over the years in the form of a mini collection of cards, stickers, tees, action figures and even a WWE Championship belt signed by the 'Big Red Machine' Kane himself (talk about getting lucky).
