One of the most awaited nights in the history of AEW happened a few days ago. In case you missed it, legendary pro wrestling star, Sting had his retirement match at the AEW Revolution on March 3rd. The event evolved into a celebration and stars from various promotions and WWE themselves acknowledged the legend. The most anticipated match had a few breathtaking moments that helped build up to the epic conclusion of Sting’s career. However, it looks like Sting’s tag-team partner, Darby Allin has caught Flair’s attention. But wrestling fans did not take kindly to The Nature Boy’s opinions.

Ric Flair on Darby Allin’s “work ethic”

Taking to X (f0rmerly Twitter), the Nature Boy shared a clip from the weekend in which Allin performed a risky move. The 16-time world champion commended the AEW star for his work ethic. While he mentioned that he was amazed by his dedication, he also mentioned that Allin has earned his respect.

At the very last moment before the star had landed, the Young Buck was saved resulting in Allin getting the glass shards all over his back. The risky maneuver had left everyone, including Ric Flair in awe.

However, considering a few comments Flair had made in the past and how he was trying to oversell Allin’s dedication, the former WWE star ended up getting criticized by fans.

Fans call out the Nature Boy’s hypocrisy

It did not take much time for the fans to start calling out Flair for his statement. While some pointed out the comment he had made on Mick Foley years ago, others stated that this is not what pro wrestling should be.

A couple of fans remembered that Flair had called out Mick Foley as a “glorified stuntman” due to his willingness to go beyond his capacity to put up a good show. When Flair commended Allin for his efforts, fans quickly pointed out his hypocrisy.

Another group of fans did not agree with the fact that Allin decided to pull off this move. Some fans pointed out that the AEW star who is very young and doesn’t weigh much, should have not done that. Another fan stated that Allin’s back would not be the same after some time.

A few other fans stated that the move was unnecessary and not called for. A fan stated that he would never try this move ever in his life.
