“Had Surgery”: Matt Hardy Provides Injury Update on Brother Jeff After Tony Khan Suspends Sammy Guevara for Injuring Him

The Hardy Boyz have garnered a reputation for taking things to an extreme whenever they are inside the ring. While they usually make it out without a scratch, sometimes they aren’t so lucky. Jeff Hardy suffered the ignominy of suffering a severe injury in February. Hardy broke his nose after encountering a botch that wasn’t tended to in the right way. Nevertheless, this practice didn’t meet the expected safety standards that wrestling promotions follow in the modern era.
Jeff Hardy has been absent from AEW since mid-February. While fans expressed their concerns about his condition, his brother Mat Hardy provided fans with a positive update.

Taking to X (f0rmerly Twitter) Matt Hardy decided to share some exciting developments and updates with the fans. One of these updates included the Enigmatic Soul‘s update post-injury. In the clip, he stated that his brother is now doing well. “Jeff is doing well. He broke his nose you guys know. He had surgery last week. ” Matt Hardy also mentioned that Jeff Hardy will be out for 6 weeks, so fans could expect to see him soon.

Jeff Hardy had competed in a taped match of AEW Rampage, which was filmed right after the February 14 episode of AEW Dynamite. In the match, he went against Sammy Guevara. Unfortunately, he encountered a brutal botch. Guevara hit Hardy with his knee, which ended up breaking his nose.

Reports suggested that Guevara did not follow the specified concussion protocols. Moreover, Guevara delivered his finisher to Jeff Hardy, which shouldn’t have happened. It is important for pro wrestlers to follow protocols and AEW has aimed to make an example out of the 30-year-old. Due to this mistake, Guevara has been suspended from AEW.
However, one pro wrestling legend saw it coming and knew things were about to go down during the match.

Pro wrestling legend calls out Sammy Guevara
After the whole world was left in shock following the incident, pro wrestling legend Rob Van Dam decided to share his views on the incident. Van Dam, who has also earned a reputation for his daredevil stunts and risky maneuvers, even at this age, is the perfect person who can highlight its risks. In the No DQ match between Guevara and Hardy, the Spanish God decided to deliver a Shooting Star Press.

But instead, ended up hitting him in the face with his knee. Fans over the internet saw this botch and were utterly disappointed. Rob Van Dam stated that such a move involves high risk.
