AEW’s All In was a massive night for the company. At the iconic Wembley Stadium, the show had a ton of hype going into it. With record-setting ticket sales and 80,000+ in attendance, this was bound to be the biggest night for everyone involved. Among them was Saraya, competing for the AEW Women’s World title.

She would win and become Champion nine years after beating AJ Lee in the WWE in 2014. However, she had some sad news for her fans after the match.

The four-way match was great, with both members of the Outcast, Saraya and Storm, helping each other. Mid-way complication grew, leading to Saraya pinning Storm for the win. It was a glorious moment for her as she celebrated with her family in the ring.

She talked about her new book during the AEW All In media scrum. She said she’s been working on this for a while and needed something special to end it. Winning the Women’s Championship was that special something. She even highlighted how Tony Khan, the CEO of AEW, did not know anything about it. After her match win, she went up to Khan and told him he did not know what he had done for her.

Continuing about her book, she said that Khan’s decision to make her the new champion was the closing chapter of her book. Furthermore, she said, “He just completed my book for me.” While a good deal of fans may look at this as Saraya talking about a book, many have said this could hint at her last run before retiring.

This would not be the first time Saraya would be retiring, as she did it before in the WWE. After going on hiatus from 2015 to 2016 due to an injury, Saraya was forced to leave in-ring competition in 2018. Four years later, she signed with AEW, returning to in-ring bouts.

Nevertheless, the AEW star has enjoyed a varied and wonderful journey in her wrestling career.

Saraya’s incredible journey and achievements as a wrestler

Saraya takes pride in her wrestling background and heritage as part of a wrestling family. Her family owns a promotion called the World Association of Wrestling. She began her journey at 13 as Britani Knight. From here, her journey would begin until NXT in 2012. She would become NXT’s inaugural Women’s champion in 2013 and hold the title for 301 days. She did not lose the title but had to forfeit it due to winning the Divas Championship on the main roster.

She debuted on the main roster in 2014 on an episode of RAW, the night after WrestleMania 30. Lee, who was basking in her title defense the night before. Annoyed, Lee slapped Saraya (at the time Paige) for interrupting her moment. This led to a match where Saraya would pick up the title in a move that shocked everyone in attendance. She would be the youngest Diva’s champion at 21 and the only woman to simultaneously hold both NXT and the Diva’s belts.
