When NJPW announced the date of their biggest collaborative PPV with AEW, known as Forbidden Door, fans couldn’t resist speculating further. Whatever the case, it will be thrilling to witness the former WWE triple crown champion being a free agent and doing what she does best. However, this also refers that Banks left doors open for AEW. Thus, let’s give a look at what the president of the Jacksonville-based promotion had to say about Mercedes Moné.

Tony Khan spoke highly of Moné when she won her first title in NJPW

Before Sasha Banks joining of NJPW, fans were pretty hyped about the star debuting in AEW. However, that didn’t happen. But when the same matter was raised in front of Tony Khan, he spoke highly of the former WWE superstar.

He said, “I have a ton of respect for the IWGP Women’s World Champion. She’s a tremendous wrestler. I wouldn’t want to comment on discussions I’m having with any wrestler who’s a free agent.”

This praise of Moné by Khan might develop into something exciting for wrestling fans in the coming days. However, until any official announcement, we can only speculate.
