Kenny Omega has been one of the most notorious and unfortunate casualties within All Elite Wrestling. The professional wrestler was forced to stop his activities inside the ring after receiving a diagnosis of diverticulitis, which keeps his future in a huge unknown.

But being on the sidelines doesn’t mean he can’t make the news right? And that’s what happened, as he has just teased a feud with Randy Orton as he replied to a piece of advice by Bully Ray.

Despite being recognized as one of the best wrestlers in the world, Kenny Omega is not without his critics. In recent years, some fans have questioned his ability on the microphone. And Bully Ray is one of them. The pro wrestling legend in a podcast suggested that Kenny Omega should work with someone like Randy Orton. As it would help him learn storytelling and wrestling psychology better. So paying heed to the advice, Kenny Omega has come up with a reply. One where he revealed that he would actually love to work with the Viper. He tweeted, “I learn something almost every day I’m at a venue. Even the tiniest of details can make a difference. There’s no doubt in my mind that with someone as unique and successful as Orton, I’d have plenty to learn, absorb, and apply. Tis facts.”

Omega is one of the best wrestlers in the world. And he has proved his talent on multiple occasions in recent years. After making his mark in Japan, winning title after title in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, he decided to return to the United States. He played an instrumental part in the birth of AEW while also contributing massively towards the promotion’s exponential growth.

Even in AEW, Omega established his credentials. His scintillating matches and prestigious victories have been useful in increasing his extraordinary palmares as a top-level wrestler. And this comes from being open to criticism, especially by legends such as Bully Ray. However, when the criticisms came from too many fans, even Omega could lose his cool. As he did once during a Twitch stream.

Omega gives fans a reality check

While being live on Twitch, Omega decided to directly address these criticisms of being bad at delivering promos. Kenny Omega commented that his mic skills are solid enough to sell an event with over 45,000 fans. He also expressed his weariness at hearing criticism suggesting otherwise, when he has shown on multiple occasions that he is more than capable and has a style of his own. The AEW star said, “You’re trying to talk about a guy who sold 45,000-seaters with my storytelling? You’re trying to tell me I don’t know how to tell stories? Because I don’t have a yelling promo voice? Yeah? You tell me and then you’re gonna say, oh well, The Rock sold more. Of course he f**king did. He’s The Goddamn Rock and you know what? I’m not f**king bad myself. I try my best.”

He further added, “Honestly though, guys, when I wanna tell a story and I have a way to tell it, I’ll tell it in my ways. That’s all there is to it and maybe if something that I’ve done isn’t exciting or my American-style promos just aren’t doing it for you, well, I got news for ya, because I don’t care.”

Maybe Kenny Omega would love to prove his critics wrong once he returns to wrestling. Being a cornerstone for AEW, it’s hard to imagine a feud between Omega and Orton actually coming to fruition, though, especially considering that there is significant time remaining on his deal with the promotion. AEW and WWE have developed a rivalry befitting the competitive nature of the business. So it’s hard to imagine a scenario where a top star of each promotion is allowed to clash against one another. Tony Khan’s promotion has worked in collaboration with other wrestling promotions but WWE does not have a track record of working with other companies. Nevertheless, Kenny Omega’s immediate priority will be to make his wrestling return from injury. But what is the expected time of his in-ring comeback?

Well, the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Omega could soon undergo surgery to repair perforations in his intestines and colon. This treatment would serve as a means to improve the condition of the former world champion, who still suffers from various pains in the abdomen that make his daily life difficult. However, the surgery to treat his medical condition has been put on hold to assess the naturalness of his recovery process. So maybe we will have to wait quite long for the return of the AEW star. What do you think? Is Omega actually bad at delivering promos? Let us know in the comments.
