Pro wrestling happens to be one of the oldest and most essential parts of the sports entertainment industry. From its origins back in the 1800s to its modern-day iteration, the sport has witnessed massive changes throughout its course. However, the modern-day rivalry that the fans are interested in the modern times is the rivalry between two promotions including Tony Khan’s AEW. While many might call it a WWE rip-off, the promotion did get some recognition as it changed things for the upcoming talent. However, the credit went to Cody Rhodes instead of Tony Khan.

One of the most important things in pro wrestling or any other sport is to make it easier for young talent to join the sport. And that’s exactly what the American Nightmare has done according to Cody Rhodes’ elder sister, Teil Runnels (Rhodes).

On the latest episode of Busted Open Radio, she was present along with Nic Nemeth f.k.a Dolph Ziggler and she shared how her younger brother made a long-lasting impact that might help the future generations of pro wrestlers. She said during the interview, “It’s hard you know looking back now you can say you know he did all this stuff, he improved the wrestling economy for so many wrestlers everybody’s making more money.”

Rhodes also added that her brother, however, does not receive much credit for this. She continued, “But from A to B took a lot of hard work and I think sometimes Cody (Rhodes) gets you know maybe not that credit I mean it was a lot it was a lot of working hard.”

Talking further about her brother’s current run, she stated that she is happy to see that the fans are “Cody fans” and not Dusty or Dustin Rhodes fans. After she completed her statement, Nemeth surprisingly agreed to her. It came as a shocker as he had criticized Rhodes’ Finnish the Story gimmick in the past.

While Cody Rhodes is going strong, even sidelining the President of AEW, let’s have a look at what’s waiting for him at WrestleMania XL.

Will the dream turn into a nightmare?

In case you missed it, Rhodes will be performing on both nights of WrestleMania. Night 1, he will be facing one of the biggest challenges of his career, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. On Night 1, he and Seth Rollins will be fighting against The Rock and Roman Reigns in a tag team match. If Rhodes and Rollins win this tag team match, no member of Bloodline will interrupt the match between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns on Night 2.
