Daniel Bryan’s WWE contract ended at midnight after WWE SmackDown went off air. In fact, just a few hours before the contract expiration, Bryan lost a Universal Championship match to Roman Reigns, forcing him to leave SmackDown. Everyone thought this was just a way to send Bryan to another brand, but it wasn’t.

Fightful Select recently reported that Daniel Bryan’s contract expired on April 30, 2021. Since then, everyone has been wondering what’s next for Bryan after leaving WWE. Will he go to AEW? Well, he recently praised Kenny Omega and had also expressed the desire to work for other promotions, so it cannot be ruled out.
WWE even moved Bryan from the active Superstars page to the Alumni Section. That adds fuel to the fire that he really might be gone.

And if he is really gone, then AEW would be a perfect place for him to pop-up, considering his desire to wrestle for other promotions.
However, an interesting thing to note is that the report also states Bryan had no farewell following his match with Reigns. If Bryan was actually leaving, there would’ve been a pretty evident goodbye, the details of which would’ve easily leaked out. But none of it happened, as if it was just another day at the office.

WWE would definitely not want to let one of their biggest stars leave. Plus, no-farewell alongside that is enough to make us believe that this is nothing but an indefinite hiatus from Daniel Bryan.
