CM Punk will have his first match in AEW after nearly a year at the newly debuting Collision show. Surely, upon his return, Tony Khan might be having major plans for the ‘Best in the World’. However, the main question stands about if Punk is himself on board with these plans. Reportedly, the 44-year-old has already rejected a huge match for Forbidden Door PPV and his planned opponent wasn’t told about it.

As Fightful reported, Punk “wasn’t thrilled” about a match against KENTA aka Hideo Itami. Subsequently, following the report, the current Strong Openweight Champion shared his views on the reportedly canceled match.

Shortly, after Fightful reported Punk “wasn’t thrilled” for a match against KENTA at Forbidden Door, fans were disappointed. Over the past few years, a match between Punk and the NJPW star has become a dream match. This is because both the stars have the same finisher and fans want to see how it goes when put them in a match against each other.

But it seems when this pitch was made, the 42-year-old Japanese wrestler wasn’t aware of it. This reflects in his recent tweet, as KENTA shared his reaction to the recent news about his match with Punk.

Without Even Stepping in the Ring at AEW Collision, CM Punk Has Reportedly Landed Tony Khan in Trouble Again With His Latest Interview

The NJPW star wrote, “Hahaha. Me too. It is ZERO interesting without money. Also I’m so pi**ed that they planned our match without my permission and going to make it with NO BAG. This is my personal fued. F**K YOU.”

At the end of the day booking a match is all about drawing money. As KENTA claims he wasn’t made aware of this pitch for the match, and he didn’t like it. Nevertheless, only the former NXT star has reacted to it and Punk is yet to share his views on it.

It’s always never say never in pro wrestling. Hence, if not now, then in the future they might clash with each other. Their same finishing move could also make for an interesting spectacle. In fact, when Punk first used the “Go To Sleep” in WWE, KENTA was quick to point out that he was the pioneer of the move and that Punk copied it.

However, as this article is written Punk is hours away from his return to AEW in his hometown of Chicago.

Punk pushed the idea to book him wrestling at AEW Collision in Chicago!

Whenever the ‘Voice of the Voiceless’ comes to wrestling in his hometown of Chicago, it is a celebration in the arena. We have witnessed this during his infamous match against John Cena at 2011 Money in the Bank and Punk’s AEW debut.

However, despite wrestling in Chicago several times, Punk has never wrestled at the United Center. Hence, this time the former WWE Champion pushed himself to wrestle in this arena.

Fightful recently reported, “CM Punk pushed to wrestle on the first Collision. He’s never wrestled in the United Center, and wanted to be able to do that.”
