Dwayne Johnson Almost Clashed Against His Childhood Hero Arnold Schwarzenegger Over Bodybuilding in 2016

Dwayne Johnson and Arnold Schwarzenegger are great friends are have a similar story behind their Hollywood rise. Moreover, the two stars are well known for making a huge mark in their first career before transitioning as an actor.
However, one more common hobby they share is working and bodybuilding. Similarly, The Rock and Arnie once had to clash against each other over their love for bodybuilding.

In 2016, Dwayne Johnson and Arnold Schwarzenegger were binging their shows on the small screen about bodybuilding. Arnie’s show was called as ‘Pump’ while The Rock’s was known as ‘Muscle Beach’. Even the destination of both series was Venice Beach, California.
Both the shows had a similar story, but Pump would show the 1970s, while Muscle Beach showed the 1980s. However, DJ would have had to clash against his childhood hero if both productions progressed with the same theme. As The Styrian Oak had announced his series first, Johnson had to post on Instagram about his project a couple of days later.

The WWE legend shared in his caption about his series was to be shown on the USA Network. He talked about the hour-long drama series would be loved by the fans.

He wrote, “Muscle Beach” is set in a legendary bodybuilding gym in 1980’s Venice Beach where a colorful tribe of lost souls struggle to reinvent themselves by bench-pressing their way to a bigger, better American dream, no matter what the cost.”
The Rock added, “As the series explores the body obsessed fitness movement that took the nation by storm during the supersized Reagan 80’s, the excess of the era and the many temptations of Los Angeles will expose the dark side of chasing dreams.”
Why was ‘Muscle Beach’ an enormous deal for Dwayne Johnson?
Everyone knows Johnson loves to take care of his body and hit the gym regularly. Today, he has also become one of the bodybuilding legends for many fans. Therefore, Muscle Beach was a huge deal for DJ and he shared why it was at the end of his Instagram caption.

Even though there was this enthusiasm, we haven’t heard about the series from The Rock. As for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Pump, it is also yet to be telecast on TV. Rumors are Arnie is again in talks for the same, but no words on Muscle Beach from DJ.
