How difficult was it to honor the forty years of WrestleMania?

In an interview, two of the developers Lynell Jinks & Bryan Williams who worked in WWE 2k24 opened up about the challenges they had to make this mode possible. While they stated that it was exciting, it was equal parts difficult for them. First, they had to pick the most iconic match from each year which was a big task. Next, they had to face some other issues. Over the years, many stars left WWE or their contracts with the promotion had expired.

In that case, they had to work around and find possible fits that they could work with. Next, they had to match the live footage with their in-game models. This was particularly difficult due to lighting, settings, and other factors.  According to the developers, this was probably one of the most difficult tasks when they tried to recreate all the matches from different eras. The Forty Years of WrestleMania Edition will be released on March 5, 2024, along with the WWE 2k24 Deluxe Edition. The Standard Edition and Standard Cross-Gen versions will be released on March 7, 2024. Which match are you most excited to play?
